About Me

I’m a thirty-something park-ranger-turned-fiber-artist, trying to save the world, one hat at a time.
Born in western Canada, raised in northern California, lived a year on exchange in southern Germany, and majored in philosophy at University of California at San Diego, my life changed forever when I went north to Alaska for a summer job in 1991.
From canning salmon in Bristol Bay, to waiting tables at the McKinley Chalets, volunteering at the Denali Park Backcountry Desk, entering data for the bear biologists, and volunteering with the Denali Park Sled Dog Kennels,
I landed a seasonal job as a Park Naturalist, leading hikes and giving slide shows.
Eventually, what with the long winters providing plenty of motivation and opportunity, I learned to knit.
From the cozy environs of the Goose Lake Studio Gallery, just outside the Denali National Park boundary, I began to create and sell my hand knit felt hats under the business name, “Crowberry Craftworks.”
Although we both loved Alaska, my husband & I decided to return to his home state of New Hampshire to pursue paths closer to our artists’ vision.
I have been a proud member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen since we moved to Canaan in 2004.
