Classes
Make your own knitted felt hat this fall at my fiber studio in lovely historic Canaan, New Hampshire.

Two Saturdays, 10am-2pm
[Dates still to be determined... stay tuned!]
On the first Saturday we will discuss color and design, process and techniques, and will begin to knit the pillbox-style hat. Over the next two weeks, you will finish knitting the hat on your own.
On the second Saturday we will explore the nuances of felting in a washing machine.

Class participants (above) proudly display their oversized knitted caps, before shrinking in the washing machine.
Some knitting experience required.
Directions to my fiber studio and a materials list are provided upon registration with the Hanover League of New Hampshire Craftsmen.
2 sessions, 8 hours, $75 tuition, $30 materials fee.
This will be my fifth time teaching this class through the Hanover League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and it should be great fun.
Below, more photos from the fall 2006 inaugural “Ancient Art of Felting” class:

Fun with fiber, and a cozy day was had by all! Thanks ladies, it was a blast!

Hi, Carrie. I’m the fellow Canaanite you met on the last day of the Sunapee fair. I’ll be interested in knowing if you offer a class this fall or winter. Thanks!

Hi Carrie: I saw you at the Sunapee Craftmans Fair and loved your hats. Will you be teaching a class this fall/winter 2007? Would love to sign up. Thanks.

Hi, Carrie: I saw your hats at Sunapee and loved them. I truly regret not buying
one! I live in Illinois and have been looking for a pattern similar to what you did
and haven’t found one. Will you have a class this winter? I could tie it in with a
visit to my best friend, who lives a Boston suburb.
I love felting hats and bags. But your pattern is wonderful and your embellishments
are great.
Thank you.
