Hat of the Week: Last Hat of 2007 (#175)

Knitted felt hat #175 of 2007 by felt fiber artist, Carrie Cahill Mulligan of Canaan, New Hampshire. Ribbon embroidery worked freehand.

(Drumroll, please…) Here it is! The final hat (#175) in my 2007 Collection.

Finished with custom, freehand embroidery last night, and sent in today’s mail, this pink-on-pink beauty is now heading to Christine S. of New York City.

I sure hope this warm felt hat gets to Chris in time for Valentine’s Day. We’ve had some cold, snowy weather here in the Northeast, lately…

  1. Carrie, I LOOOVE the ribbon work! Exquisite! See, I knew my hat stayed plain for a reason. Because it was waiting for you to start “ribboning”! I might have to send you my hat from Alaska for some dressing up one of these days. But it sounds like you have your hands full down there! Your website is beautiful. It’s really evolved nicely. We just celebrated Marisa’s 50th over the last two weeks. It was a lot of fun. Greetings to Andy-man. We miss you guys! Wrangell and Shadow and Gypsy say hi.

  2. Thanks so much, Larissa! The ribbon embroidery has been supremely gratifying… same technique, but fancier results.

Certainly send your hat for “tattooing” when the weather warms up… Maybe during those 3 weeks in July when you won’t need it quite so much? šŸ˜‰

Give Marisa our best, and James, and scratch those dawgs on the belly for us… we really miss you guys!
