My New Felt Hat!

For the past 5 happy years, my trusty brown felt hat has been nothing but good to me.

Fiber artist Carrie Cahill Mulligan wears her signature brown felt hat at her home in Canaan, New Hampshire.

My old brown hat has warmed me, from Alaska to New Hampshire. (Photo by Tom Morgan.)

But this week, I created and fell in love with a new one.

I didn’t mean for it to happen. I wasn’t even looking for a new hat…

In fact, I was embroidering hats to replace some that had sold at the artists’ gallery, “Collective” in Woodstock, Vermont.

But once I had finished it, I knew I couldn’t let it go.

So, heads up!  If you mainly recognize me by my old brown hat, look sharp:

There’s a new hat in town!

Resistance is futile

I have joined “Collective – the Art of Craft” as a guest artist!

Collective, located in the heart of picturesque Woodstock, Vermont, is an artist-run cooperative gallery, featuring the work of these fine craftsfolks:

Lynn Adams, Josh Axelrod, Deirdre Donnelly, Scott Duffy, Faith Fellows, Charles Faucher, Marcia Hammond, Trenny & Bob at Highbeams, Nicholas Kekic, Kathryn Myers, Nicholas Seidner & Diane Rosenmiller, and Aasta & Uli at Allrosefarm.

Beautiful work in fiber, glass, clay, metal and wood surround visitors to the spacious gallery on the banks of the brook running through Woodstock.

My hats, along with jewellery by Anne Havel, will be featured for the months of February and March 2007.
