Paw Print of Antler Buttons

I didn’t make a lot of hoopla about it, but last year a new hat design came to me – a paw print of antler buttons:

Felt Hat #12 of 2012: Paw print of caribou antler buttons on knitted felt hat, by fiber artist, Carrie Cahill Mulligan of Canaan, New Hampsire.

My 1st paw print of caribou antler buttons on knitted felt hat.

(Andy makes the buttons out of shed caribou antlers, and in the past I’ve used them in my flower embroidery designs):

Well, I was sure delighted to get the following photo and note from happy hat customer, Katie Farrell, who was kind enough to loan her Paw Print hat to her husband, Chris:

“Here is Chris in the hat! He loves it. I am glad it fits him as well.

Since it’s slightly bigger than my other hats, I tend to wear this one when I have my hair done so it fits over with out messing it up! LOL!

But Chris has been wearing it most of the winter.

Thanks again. 🙂 “

    • Thank you, Patti. I was just sort of playing with a grouping of buttons, thinking I might do something geometric/abstract with them, when this shape/constellation of buttons of appeared below my hand… Aha! and viola! Very serendipitous!
