I have a childhood friend who happens to be an AMAZING artist, who happens to be participating in the 2012 Sketchbook Project, who happened to sketch the Hannah Kearney Tribute Coif I wore skiing on my last visit to The Balsams:
I’m stunned by the photo-realism of Heather’s work! Look how she captured the nubby texture of my felt hat above, and also of her lovely daughter’s hat… AMAZING!
See more of Heather’s 2012 Sketchbook, and let her know what you think… Heather has only recently begun to share her work publicly. Please tell her: we want more!
I thought ” oh.. What a nice black and white photo”… Then I continued to read and it said it was a sketch? I went back and only in the coat did it look like a sketch?! It still looked like a picture in the face. Amazing drawing. Hats off to the artist. And that hat in the tan with the flowers? Stunning. I want one but I am sure the $$$ is high. Love the work.
Seriously, right? Ms. Halpern is crazy-ueber talented. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around her sketches… they all look so absolutely REAL. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment, Kimberly!
Oh! And thanks for the hat kudos! I think they are reasonably priced for the time and work involved. Prices range from $135 – $235. Please be in touch if you ever want to treat yourself! I’m so proud of them.
